August was a busy month on the mountain with lots of visitors and students returning to Sewanee and Saint Andrews-Sewanee. The weather was wonderfully cool and everyone was able to spend a lot of time exploring our beautiful mountain top.

September will also be a busy month with lots of sports activities at Sewanee and Saint Andrews-Sewanee. The weather forecast continues to be below our normal temperatures so it will be a great month to come and enjoy the area.

Our favorite art gallery, Locals, will open for the fall season on September 15th and add three new artists to their already impressive roster. Locals is such a beautiful place to visit and find some unique and special treasures. They are open Wednesday thru Saturday. Check out their website at www.myerspoint.com/locals.

The 30th annual Polly Crockett Festival will be held in Cowan on Sept 21st, 22nd 23rd. Davy’s wife Polly was born and grew up in the local area. This family festival is the largest festival in our area. The weekend is filled with history, entertainment and lots of demonstrations plus numerous unique vendors. Come join in the fun if you can. Tallulah’s Wine lounge will be busy this month with 2 wine tastings on Saturday, September 8th and 22nd. We will continue the 25 wines for $5 per glass because it has become very popular with our guests and locals. The wine and food will flow from 4pm until 7pm. We have been known to open almost any wine to serve by the glass. Come join us for a great afternoon with great wines.
