The flowers are blooming and the days are still cool and delightful.

April was a very busy and fun month at the Inn. Among a number of fun events, we hosted the Wine & Wildflowers celebration during the Trails & Trilliums Weekend. We had a record turnout of about 200 guests enjoying themselves and introduced a silent auction. The silent auction and the corporate sponsorship of the event by Lodge Manufacturing Company raised over $3,000 for Friends of the South Cumberland.

In April, we opened our Wine Lounge to the public. The Wine Lounge offers our guests and the public a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere to enjoy numerous wines by the glass, monthly specials and some delicious cheese, meat and fruit plates. Our new selection of wine & cheese/fruit platters have become very popular. We are announcing a contest to Name our Wine Lounge. Send us your suggestions using your vivid imagination. The winner receives a complimentary night's stay and a $100 Wine Lounge credit. Let us hear your ideas and we will announce the winner in next month's newsletter.

May will begin to provide us with fresh herbs, vegetables and flowers from the gardens as they come into their own. Not only do we sell our surplus herbs, flowers and vegetables at the Locally Grown Market in Sewanee, we also buy fresh farm eggs and other delicious local products to use in our meals & functions. The refurbished gardens are a delight for the senses and a true visual pleasure.

On Sunday, May 15th, we will have a "Bountiful Lunch Buffet" for $29.99, so make your reservation today and enjoy a wonderful meal with us.

This is our 8th May since we purchased the Inn in 2002 so we decided to share our success with you and offer an 8th Anniversary Special in May. Sunday thru Thursday, when you stay two nights, we will take $80 off of your bill. Come relax, rejuvenate and enjoy our beautiful mountain as Spring settles in.
