Greetings from our beautiful mountain!

The 4th of July weekend was a very special one this year because Monteagle & Sewanee held their parades and day long festivities on two different days. This allowed everyone on the mountain to enjoy a long weekend of fun and Americana at its best. The weather was perfect for all of the activities spread over the mountain.

"Escape to our Treasure, Treasure your Escape"

Congratulations to Laura and Devin McClendon who won our contest by submitting Tallulah's Wine Lounge and will be rewarded with a free night at the inn and a $100 credit at Tallulah's. The response by the community and our guests has been wonderful and we are very excited to provide a comfortable setting to enjoy our wine collection. The opening reception was enjoyed by almost 50 guests who partook of 20 wines and a fantastic spread of Hor d'oeuvres. By the way, Tallulah Bankhead was Jim's Great, Great Aunt and he got to spend a week with her during the New York World's Fair in 1969. Needless to say, it was an interesting week indeed.

We will have a California Wine Tasting on Friday, July 22nd from 4 until 7pm with 6 delicious wines and appetizers for only $25 per person. We selected Friday because that is the date of the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly cottage tour across the street. It is always a fantastic tour of homes dating back to the 1880s. They also have a bazaar and food treats also. It is certainly worth the trip.
