Greetings from the Mountain!
We think that Spring is around the corner; the daffodils are sprouting and more green buds are appearing. We are remaking our herb and vegetable garden borders with bricks and stones recovered from a home being torn down across the street. The original design from 2002 with a wood border is being restored and highlighted. The veggies and herbs are being planted and will be used in our kitchen by month end. Yum, Yum!
We are excited to announce our Wine Lounge is opening April 1st. We will be serving a number of wines by the glass, featuring delicious small plates and appetizers with monthly wine specials. Come check it out and see our expanded wine list. I guarantee you will find some treasures you like.

Do Nothing Weekend |
|
The weekend of March 11th-13th is our Annual Do Nothing Weekend. We will have a list of over 50 things to do, or do nothing. Hike the Fiery Gizzard trail... or do nothing, go to Dutch Maid, the oldest bakery in Tennessee... or do nothing, take a walk thru the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly and enjoy over 150 homes dating back to the 1880's... or do nothing. You get the idea. We will serve our Mountain Gourmet breakfast any time you want it. Remember our motto: "Escape to our treasure, treasure your escape"

Make your plans to attend the 8th "Perennial" Trails and Trilliums on April 16th & 17th presented by The Friends of South Cumberland. The event will be headquartered in the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly across the street. The weekend will feature plant sales, garden tours, trail hikes, book signing, forums, food fun and my personal favorite; Wine & Wildflowers at the inn on Saturday from 4 until 6. This year W&W will also have a silent auction to raise money for the Friends programs helping the South Cumberland State Parks, which is a true jewel in our back yard. Details may be found at www.friendsofscsra.org.
