Greetings from your friends at Monteagle Inn & Retreat Center

Greetings from beautiful Monteagle where we just celebrated a fantastic Independence Day weekend with street dances, parades fireworks and lots more. Between Monteagle, Sewanee and the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, the activities were endless all weekend. Truly Americana at its finest!

The weather on the mountain is fantastic with mild days and cool nights. Come join us and relax to your heart’s content.

On Saturday, July 31st, we will have a fun Italian Wine Tasting in conjunction with our 1st annual Italian Pottery Sale from 4 until 6pm. We will enjoy 5 Italian wines and appetizers in the living room while the dining room will feature over 100 Italian pottery pieces we have collected over the last 20 years. Come and enjoy a 10% discount during the sale.

We are adding a gift cabinet in the foyer with several items including Italian, Chinese & local pottery, paintings and other treasures and the sale on the 31st is a good way to kick that off.

On Saturday, August 28th we will have a California Wine Dinner featuring 6 special California wines paired with 5 delicious courses. Chef Dee is developing a fantastic menu to compliment the wines. More information will be forthcoming later this month.

We have had four new restaurants recently open on the mountain. In Monteagle both Modern Dave’s Café and Holy Smokes Bar-B-Que have opened to rave reviews and attracted quite a crowd. In Sewanee, both Julia’s Café and Ivy Wild Restaurant have opened to overwhelming praises. Meanwhile HighPoint Restaurant in Monteagle was featured in the Chattanooga Times Free Press this weekend with a 2 page spread and cover photo.
