The Craft Artists of Southern Tennessee invite everyone to their 14th annual Holiday Studio Tour in Monteagle and Sewanee on Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 5, noon–5 p.m. The tour map with each studio’s location is available at <www.cast-taca.org>; click on the “studio tour” tab.  More than 30 local and regional artists will show their work, ranging from textiles, sculpture, jewelry, pottery and glass to paintings, cast bronze, metal work and much more!  Local artists who will open their studios to the public for the tour include Barbara Hughes, Bob Askew, Claire Reishman and Merissa Tobler.  Two more studios have joined the tour this year: fiber artist Lynne Vogel and ceramics artist Archie Stapleton.  Other locations displaying artists’ work are the American Legion Hall, Locals Gallery, Shenanigans Gallery, Edgeworth Inn and St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School in the Spencer Room and the SAS Art Gallery.  Most of the private studios and the SAS Spencer Room will host several different artists and their work, and the SAS Art Gallery will host the group exhibition “Full CAST 2010.” Light refreshments will be available at many locations. Locals Gallery, owned and operated by Melissa and John Goodson, features artists and craftspeople who live in the Sewanee region. A new sponsor in the tour is the Artisan Depot in Cowan, a 10-minute drive from Sewanee, displaying the work of Franklin County Arts Guild members. Be sure to enjoy the displays at the Monteagle Inn & Retreat Center.  The St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Gallery exhibition features more work from artists participating in the studio tour and works created by SAS faculty and staff. Most works in the SAS exhibition and many in the artists’ own studios are for sale.  Bright yellow signs mark the tour route, and maps are available at all tour and sponsor locations.
