Kimberly Nichole, an emerging star from the New York underground music culture, will return to Sewanee to perform at the Ayres Multi-Cultural Center Friday, November 5, from 9:00 to 12:00 midnight. An artist known for her vibrant vocals, Kimberly Nichole has taken soul music in new and unexpected directions. She was a finalist in the Soul Tracks Readers' Choice Awards for Best New Artist of the Year in 2009.

Kimberly, truly a musical diva, is well on her way to bursting into the mainstream. She has been billed with some of the best independent artists on the scene, including Eric Roberson, Gordon Chambers, Yahzarah, PJ Morton, Lyfe Jennings, Janelle Monae, Dwele, Bilal and Rahbi.

Born in Seattle, Kimberly Nichole was educated at Atlanta's Spelman College and now resides in Harlem. She has been immersed in music her entire life. From Kurt Cobain, to OutKast, to Billie Holiday, her musical influences have been as varied as her current repertoire.

Come hear Kimberly Nichole explore the boundaries of her songs, dabbling in rock, R&B, jazz, and blues, including her hit "Peace of Mind" from her debut album The Yellow Brick Journey. Kimberly is blazing her own trail to musical prominence.
